He was my boss ( a very good one too) for about a year in the late 70’s
Traveled overseas and one time thought I’d lost him on our way out of then communist Bulgaria
Turns out the security made him go back and check in his carry-on. Wasn’t sure whether to get on plane without him or not

every evening when i’d hear the garage door open, i knew he was home from work. i’d run to meet him at the door as he walked in saying “hello hello hellooo!”, giving me a big hug. he smelled like trench-coat and cold weather. so often bringing home gifts and treats. there was nothing i couldn’t tell him or ask of him. and i’ve found so many childhood crafts i’ve made him still stored all around his house. how lucky that love can live in physical items but also transcend them.
