Linda Bastoky's Obituary
Linda R. Bastoky, age 72, of Mayfield Heights passed away on August 28, 2021. She was born on February 5, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio to her adored and late parents, Irving and Esther Bastoky. She is the sister of Larry Bastoky (Beverly) and Bruce M. Bastoky (Julie). She was the ever cheerful “Auntie Linda” of Zachary, Lauren, Alex and Erica as well as many great nieces and nephews. Survived by many cousins and a host of loyal and devoted friends. A graduate of Miami of Ohio and master educator for nearly a half century to many hundreds of students in public, private religious schools and students in need of tutors. She was on the faculty of West Geauga Schools and Bet Safer Mizrachi. Linda was an enthusiastic patron of the Cleveland performing arts, and made yearly trips to see Broadway performances. She was an avid follower of international ice-skating competitions. Her last 10 years, still in the field of education, were tutoring elementary age students. Whether providing a willing ear for her nieces and nephews or spending the necessary time to explain the works of Shakespeare or prepare students for SAT testing; Linda always came through! Grave side services at Mt. Olive Cemetery have taken place. A celebration of Linda’s life will be announced at a later date in order that devoted friends and extended family may attend. Donations in her name may be made to the Cleveland Clinic Hospice or a charity of choice.
