Judith S. Kanter's Obituary
Judith S. Kanter (nee Yoelson), 90, was a beloved wife of the late Jay B. Kanter, and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She lived 90 years and passed quietly after enjoying her favorite dish of ice cream with hot fudge. She devoted her life to her family and teaching elementary children at the Jewish Sunday school. She is survived by three loving children, Jeff Kanter, Jane Kanter, and Jonathan Kanter. Her grandchildren are Zachary and Wesley Kanter, and Jennifer Priddy. Judy graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and she always remembered the school song. She loved being with children and was a teacher at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple and B'nai Jeshurun, and every time she saw a family with small children she would just light up and smile. As a member of Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, she was Sisterhood president twice, and enjoyed the community and services with her husband Jay. Judy was a wonderful cook and was known to make enough potato salad “for an army.” Her parents were pharmacist Joe and Betty Yoelson, nana and pops, and they were very close. Her sister was Carol Shipley. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic there will be a private family service and no public visitation. Memorial donations suggested to the Fairmount Temple Religious School, 23737 Fairmount Blvd., Beachwood, Ohio 44122.
