Iosif Katsman's Obituary
On Monday, January 4, 2021, Iosif Katsman, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at age 90.
Iosif was born on May 5, 1930 in Belarus. He graduated from Moscow Economic University and worked up until he immigrated to the United States in 1994 with his family. On July 1st 1956, he married Basya Berman. They raised two daughters, Slava and Polina. Iosif spent his career as a Accounting and with it worked to instill the importance of education to his daughters.
Throughout his life Iosif was passionate about learning and he dedicated his time to his loved ones. Known for his kindness to others, Iosif was often found sharing his time with his family by helping around the house or playing games with his grandchildren. At any family event, it was easy to find Iosif as he was always spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren asking questions about their lives, hopes, and dreams. During his spare time Iosif enjoyed reading, exploring nature, and chess with friends. Nothing brought him more joy than sharing these passions with his family.
Iosif was preceded in death by his wife Basya. He is survived by his two children, his four grandchildren and his four great-grandchildren.
