Bernard William Cantleberry's Obituary
Bernard W. Cantleberry, 82, of Madison, formerly of Mayfield Heights, died at home September 16, 2017. He was the husband of Ruth (nee Glaser) and of the late Sandra (nee Gordinsky); Father of Robin Berman, Tammy Marous, Rick (Connie) Cantleberry, Dan (Candy) Cantleberry and Traci Parziale; Grandfather of 6 - Nicole, Tommy, Brittany, Jake, Riquel and Amber; Great-grandfather of 2 - Vinny and Quinn. U. S. Navy veteran. Graveside service Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery, 26700 Aurora Road, Bedford Heights 44146. Family will receive friends at Sturbridge Apartments (Party Room), 132 Chatham Way, Mayfield Heights 44124 following the service from 3 - 9 PM, then on Wednesday and Thursday at 126 Woodbine Oval, Madison, OH 44057 from 3 - 8 PM each day. Memorial donations suggested to ALS Foundation, Paralyzed Veterans of America or Ohio Living Hospice.
Bernard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He worked many years as service manager for various Ford dealerships, including Marshall and Chagrin Valley. He loved his service aboard submarines in the navy. He could recall many details of equipment and shipboard life many years later. He was also a creative and talented repairman. In fact, he fabricated the unique and creative urn that his ashes were buried in!
