Sending our deepest condolences and love to you all. - Wally and Stanka
Hi Mark - We were saddened to hear about Bea's death. I tried calling her on her birthday July 20th and when there was no answer I assumed the worst. When I received news just now of Bea's death, I and Jonathan and Wilma were grateful that we now have a chance to express our condolences. Imre was so pleased that he had uncovered and discovered a relative (and a close one at that) and the fact that Bea had discovered another cousin in Bratislava (Irena) meant a great deal to him and to us. We loved it when Bea and Lou came to New York and also the Berkshires and after Imre died I loved speaking with Bea on the phone as well as seeing her in Ohio when I went to my great niece's wedding. Jonathan always remembers when you visited him and his family in Israel. Bea was a great lady and we are honored to have been part of the family. With all our love and best wishes, Estelle Friedman
Bea was my mother's inspiration. They called each other every night to share their day. And every day, when asked about her day, Bea would say she had "the best day". What a lovely and engaged person. She was always warm and caring. Once, when I visited her at Menorah Park, with my mom, Bea was wearing a T shirt with the words, VOTE. Keep Democracy Afloat. I loved it and asked where I could get one for a demonstration I was about to participate in, in Milwaukee. She literally gave me the shirt off her back. I have it now as a lovely memory of Bea. What an enormous heart. I will miss seeing her during my Cleveland trips.
I wish to express my love and condolences to Aunt Bea's family.
Love,
Natalie
Bea was a former neighbor and friend of mine. She was an admirable women who was very kind and down to earth. She had a great sense of humor and a warm heart. When I first met Bea she was very mobile and had a dog named Bella. I have fond memories chatting with her and sitting on the porch of our apartment building. Rest in Peace Bea! Your name is one I'll always remember.
Bea Silverberg was my mother, Violet Spevack's neighbor at Menorah Park. She was a lovely, kind and caring lady who we came to know had a remarkable life. Our family shared memories together as my sister, Dina and I and Violet spent some time together. We shared the love of music as we listened to the music therapist play our favorite songs. We sang together as Dina serenaded us with her beautiful voice. We shared life stories and enjoyed each other's company when Bea was available.
Bea and I shared a love of sculpting and compared notes with each other's work. She amazed me with her vast background tirelessly helping people. We talked about psychology and my field of art therapy.
She was a great writer and was most proud of her new book published while she was at Menorah Park. She was endeared to Violet, who was a writer and columnist for the Jewish News. When Bea was able they shared a meal together and some time talking about life.
It was our pleasure to have met and loved Bea and extend our sincere sympathies to her family on her passing.
Rest in Peace, Bea !!
Although at a great distance from each other, we have had the privilege of walking through life with Bea since 1979.
We talked and wrote to each other about how we would like to see the world change.
Every letter from her always ended with the words "Love, Hope & Peace".
As everyone knows far from empty words.
Bea's motto was: if you want something, you have to do something, and she did it for a lifetime. But ... not for herself but especially for the less fortunate.
Respect for this progressive woman who really helped change the world!
But Bea was far more than that.
A very sympathetic and cheerful woman who makes friends feel very comfortable.
And above all a loving and caring wife of Lou and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Farewell Bea !!
We will miss you, but cherish the memories.
Our condolences to all relatives !!
We wish you a lot of strength in processing this major loss.

I loved Bea, one of countless people who did. She made her friends feel important, deeply interesting, truly cared for. Few people show the same degree of interest and empathy. Goodbye, dear. Though we lived in the same town (Ashtabula) simultaneously for only two years, you left a mark that warmed my heart for close to forty years. You will always be remembered.
