Batya Jundef, age 63 of South Euclid, was the daughter of Faiwus and Golda (nee Katz) Jundef. She died at The Montefiore Hospice in Beachwood, Ohio in the early hours of October 20, 2017. She was interred in a graveside service at Read Obituary

I just learned of Batya's passing. Our staff here at the University Heights Public Library enjoyed speaking with her at the library and will miss one of our favorite customers.

Batya worked with my husband Don at Webster's New World Dictionary, a long-time Cleveland treasure which was staffed by wordsmiths and word lovers. As well as diligent in her work, Batya became a friend of ours. We will miss her kindness and gentleness -- and willingness to reach out. She left us Purim surprises, a custom we did not know. And I will never forget how she walked to our home -- several times -- following the birth of our newborn son, Andrew, 25 years ago. Why? In the spirit of love and friendship! And perseverance! May her memory be for a blessing, always. My whole family mourns her loss.
