Hillel Jaffe

Hillel Jaffe was born on September 12,1929 in Cleveland, Ohio at his aunt's house to Abraham and Gitel Jaffe (nee Cohen). He graduated East Tech High School in 1947 and went on to study at Ohio State University pharmacy school. He married Leona Hoffman on August 15,1954 while still in school, and then graduated in 1955. After graduating he worked a year at Gray Drug before opening his own pharmacy on Lorain Avenue. After a few years, he purchased Cedar-Lee Rexall Drug in 1957. He owned that pharmacy for 22 years. He then purchased Campus Drug at Fairmount Circle in 1979. Hillel and his wife Leona decided to move to Arizona in 1986. After two years of missing family and friends, they moved back to Cleveland in 1988. Hillel then worked part-time at Revco until 1995, when he retired. Hillel had an extensive stamp collection which he took much pride from. He loved watching baseball and football and he had an incredible sense of humor. He also had an extensive movie dvd library, which kept him busy during his retirement. Hillel passed on March 15, 2018 at the age of 88. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Leona (nee Hoffman). He was the devoted father of Jeffrey, Alan (Cheryl) and Cindy Tabak; loving grandfather to Scott and Brian Tabak and Ryan and Lexi Jaffe; Dear brother to Jack (deceased) and Deborah Orlinsky and a dear uncle. Family will receive friends on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at 2200 Kerwin Road, University Heights in the party room (left side of building).
