Memorial Society - Membership Required

The Cleveland Memorial Society is a true memorial society, not an imposter. A lot of those have sprung up in recent years. Most of them are fronts for specific funeral homes, and do not offer truly discounted rates. They are merely marketing schemes. Contact the Cleveland Memorial Society at (216) 751-5515 or sign up through their official web-site: www.clevememorialsociety.org. For a small one-time membership fee, you are guaranteed to save hundreds of dollars. Sign up today, and designate "Shapiro Funeral Services" as your preferred funeral director.

Memorial Society Burial Plan

The Funeral Director shall call for the remains; provide a burial permit; place the body in a container of the Funeral Director’s choice and which is also acceptable to the cemetery; refrigerate the remains, but only if necessary to meet legal requirements; cause the remains to be interred; and assist the family or other responsible party in composing and placing any death notice or obituary. The Funeral Director shall assist the family in obtaining a Death Certificate. The family shall be responsible for any direct costs for this Certificate. . . . There shall be no funeral procession. The family or other parties will not be present at the interment. (Shapiro Funeral Services will allow the immediate family to witness the burial, without any attendant services). The cost for this service is $ 895.00. Any cemetery costs, outer burial container (concrete box or vault, if required by cemetery) or graveside services are extra charges to be paid by the family or other responsible party and not a part of this agreement. This agreement will run through February 2018. There shall be no additional charge for cold storage, unless the family causes delays in execution of this contract in excess of seven calendar days following death.  NOTE: The funeral director may charge an additional $100.00 for each 100 pounds, or portion thereof, for each burial for bodies weighing in excess of 250 pounds.

This constitutes the full extent of the Cleveland Memorial Society burial plan. Note that items like a register book, shivah candles and temporay grave markers are available at additional cost, but that annual Yahrzeit reminder notices are NOT provided under this plan.
